Welcome to the Vestry
On this page you will find a brief overview of the responsibilities of the Vestry, as well as information for how to get involved.
Goals of the Vestry
Legally, the Vestry functions as the board of Prince of Peace Anglican Church, Inc. in fulfilment of the requirements of a 501C3 organization. As such, the Vestry has primary authority in the stewardship and distribution of the finances of the church. Additionally, the Vestry supports the Rector in the implementation of the Rector's vision for mission and ministry with special emphasis on championing the cause for reaching the next generation of believers.
According to the Bylaws of Prince of Peace, the Vestry nominates its own members and then present those nominations for election at the Annual Meeting. As a practice, the Vestry looks for members that are:
1. Regularly attending worship.
2. Actively serving or participating in a small group.
3. A champion for reaching the next generation of believers.
4. Confirmed by the Treasurer as a regular giver.

It requires a heart that is humbly listening to God, and a spirit that is zealous for mission. Vestry members are seen as models of Christian faith and behavior to the congregation, and they must take this duty seriously.
