God's Call in Our Weakness: Judges 6:11-24
Monday: God’s Call in Our Weakness
Reading: Judges 6:11-24
Have you ever felt too weak or insignificant to do something meaningful? Maybe you think, “God could never use me.” Gideon felt the same way. When the angel of the Lord appeared to him, calling him a “mighty man of valor,” Gideon was hiding in fear. He doubted himself and questioned God’s presence. Yet, God chose him to deliver Israel from oppression, not because of his strength, but because of God’s power.
The book of Judges tells the story of Israel’s repeated cycles of sin, oppression, and deliverance. Gideon lived in a time of great distress, as the Midianites plundered Israel’s land. But God’s call was not dependent on Gideon’s ability—He promised to be with him. In the same way, Jesus, the true and better deliverer, comes to us in our weakness, calling us to trust in His strength rather than our own.
Application
Identify an area where you feel weak or unqualified and bring it to God in prayer. Ask Him to use you despite your fears.
Take a step of faith this week, trusting that God is with you—whether it’s speaking about your faith, serving someone in need, or embracing a challenge with confidence in Him.
Transform Our Heart Through Prayer
Lord, I feel weak, but I trust that You are strong. Help me to believe that Your presence is enough for whatever You call me to. Holy Spirit, give me courage to step forward in faith, knowing that You go before me.
