God’s Faithful Restoration: Psalm 85

Tuesday: God’s Faithful Restoration

Reading: Psalm 85

Do you ever feel like the world is broken beyond repair? When we look at war, injustice, and personal struggles, it’s easy to wonder if things will ever be made right. Psalm 85 expresses this longing for restoration, remembering God’s past faithfulness while pleading for His mercy and renewal.

Psalm 85 was likely written after Israel’s return from exile, when the people were rebuilding their nation and faith. The psalmist recalls God’s past acts of deliverance, trusting that He will restore His people again. The ultimate fulfillment of this longing is found in Jesus Christ, who brings peace and righteousness together through His life, death, and resurrection.

Application
  • Reflect on how God has restored you in the past. Thank Him for His faithfulness, and trust Him to continue His work in your life.
  • Be a part of God’s restoring work in the world. Seek ways to bring reconciliation, whether through forgiving someone, serving the needy, or praying for healing in broken relationships.

Transform Our Heart Through Prayer
Lord, You are a God of restoration. I long for Your renewal in my life and in the world. Holy Spirit, help me to trust in Your faithfulness and to be an agent of Your peace and righteousness.
