Welcome to the POP Kids Leadership Team

On this page you will find a brief overview of the responsibilities of the POP Kids Leadership Team, training material and a contact form to get started!

Goals of the POP Kids Leadership Team

The goal of POP Kids is to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for children of any age, gender, ethnicity, culture or financial situation. We are committed to providing a place where children can hear about the good news of Jesus' life, death and resurrection and learn to be His disciples from an early age. This is done as we encounter the Triune God revealed through his word, the Bible, and is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. We aim to make the presentation of God’s word developmentally appropriate and engaging for children of all ages. We believe that Christian growth is a life-long endeavor and so Children’s Ministry partners with Student Ministries in cultivating life-long discipleship and growth.

General Expectations of the POP Kids Leadership Team

  1. Our mission is to give the peace of Jesus to the children in the Space Coast. This takes place primarily as we seek: to disciple children through our weekly children’s ministry programs, to disciple families through intergenerational family ministry initiatives, to train, equip and encourage parents as they disciple their children in the home, and to find creative ways to connect with families in our community who have not yet professed faith in Jesus.
  2. Every group of children is taught by a team of teachers, consisting of at least two people over the age of 18. However, a member of the youth group may be an additional support, but does not count as part of the two volunteers. No one is ever to teach or care for children in an isolated space by him/herself. In order to be eligible to work with children, each volunteer will be required to complete an interview, a background check, and Safeguarding Our People training.
  3. Volunteers are required to prepare for the lesson beforehand. Volunteers are expected to arrive at church 20 minutes before the service starts on scheduled service days to ensure plenty of time to set up and pray for the lesson.
Sunday Mornings
POP Kids offers nursery care during both Sunday morning services.  Children's Worship for Elementary aged children is also offered during the Modern Service.

  • Members of the Leadership Team arrive 20 minutes prior to the meeting and remain until all students have been picked up.
  • Leaders and Volunteers help with set up, teaching, and clean up.
  • Leaders and Volunteers guide students through lessons, engage in meaningful conversation, and maintain a safe environment for the children to experience the love of God.
WOW Nights
WOW Nights occur during the school year on Wednesday evenings. Elementary students begin the night in Music Makers, then have snack, lessons, and response time.

Some event examples: seasonal parties, off-site fellowship events, Rock the Universe, and weekend retreats.
