Preschool Teacher Aide

Teacher Aides will assist Lead Teachers in the 2 year old or 3 year old classes in our preschool program, ensuring the highest quality of care, formation, and safety for our students. This role requires a team player, excellent communication abilities, and having God’s call on their life for this work. Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, Child Development Certifications (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in early childhood education.
  • A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community members.
Key Responsibilities:
  • They will report to the Preschool Director and follow the direction of their Lead Teacher.
  • Provide support to their Lead Teacher and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • They will participate in regular staff huddles and professional development to promote continuous improvement.
  • They will assist in ensuring that the classroom is compliant with relevant policies from the Diocese and the Church, as well as develop any particular policies for the preschool that ensures the smooth operation of the preschool program.
Teaching and Curriculum:
  • Assist the Lead teacher in one of the classrooms.
  • Ensure that the chosen curriculum is implemented as directed by the Lead Teacher.
Hours and Compensation:
  • This is a part-time position starting at $15 an hour.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm (includes instruction and Lunch Bunch), totalling 12 hours per week.
  • Holidays observed by Brevard County Schools (i.e., Labor Day, Presidents Day, etc.) are considered paid holidays. Extended breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break) are considered unpaid time off.
