A Dwelling Place for the Lord: Psalm 84
Do you long for a place of peace and security? Psalm 84 expresses a deep longing to dwell in the presence of the Lord, where true joy and strength are found. Jesus is our eternal dwelling place—through Him, we are welcomed into God’s presence forever.
Psalm 84 was likely sung by pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem to worship at the temple. The psalmist’s desire to be in God’s house reflects a deep understanding that true fulfillment comes from communion with the Lord. This longing is ultimately met in Christ, who became the true temple, making God’s presence accessible to all who believe in Him.
Application
Lord, my soul longs for You. Thank You for making a way for me to dwell in Your presence through Jesus. Holy Spirit, fill me with the joy of knowing You and help me to bring Your peace to those around me.
