Rejecting or Receiving the Cornerstone
Reading: Luke 20:9-19
Exposition: The Choice to Accept or Reject Christ
In this parable, Jesus describes a vineyard owner whose tenants reject his servants and ultimately kill his son. The religious leaders realize He is speaking about them—they have rejected God’s messengers and now plot to kill His Son. Jesus warns them, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
This passage challenges us: Will we reject Christ, or will we build our lives on Him? Jesus is the foundation of our faith. Those who reject Him face judgment, but those who receive Him stand secure.
Application: Building Our Lives on Christ
We must examine whether we have truly made Christ the cornerstone of our lives. Is He our foundation, or do we try to build on our own strength? Surrendering to Him daily, trusting in His wisdom, and aligning our lives with His Word ensures that we stand firm.
Transform Our Heart Through Prayer
Lord, I choose to build my life on You, the true Cornerstone. Keep me from rejecting Your truth. Help me to trust in You fully and follow Your ways. Holy Spirit, shape me to reflect Christ in all I do. Amen.
