Pressing On Toward the Goal
Reading: Philippians 3:7-16
Exposition: Letting Go of Earthly Achievements
Many of us measure success by worldly standards—career, reputation, accomplishments. Paul, however, declares that everything he once valued is “loss” compared to knowing Christ. He presses on, not because he has already attained perfection, but because he desires to grow in Christlikeness.
This passage reminds us that our ultimate goal is not earthly success but intimacy with Jesus. We do not earn salvation by our efforts, but we strive forward, empowered by grace, seeking to know Him more.
Application: Pursuing Christ Above All
True success is found in growing closer to Christ. This means daily choosing to prioritize Him over lesser pursuits. Letting go of worldly attachments and setting our eyes on Him frees us to run the race He has set before us. Through prayer, Scripture, and obedience, we press on toward the goal of knowing Him fully.
Transform Our Heart Through Prayer
Lord, help me to count all things as loss compared to knowing You. Teach me to let go of distractions and to pursue You above all else. Strengthen me to press on in faith. Holy Spirit, guide my steps. Amen.
